Airbnb Glitch -Host Profiles Showing No Reviews Yet

Looks like there's a new glitch: when you click on a host's profile, it says that their property has no reviews yet.

But if you click on the listing, you can see that there are reviews.

Really random, because if you do a search, the number of reviews for the property also shows up on the search results.

@Alexandra316 I wonder if you are seeing an old and a new listing. This happened to an ex colleague of mine who had bought a Airbnb property. The site somehow occasionally brought up the old owner's listing in place of his.

@Mike-And-Jane0 This is my profile: I definitely haven't created a new listing. I looked at someone else's profile and noticed it, then decided to check my own.

@Mike-And-Jane0 And i see the same thing when I visit your profile: none of your properties show any reviews.

@Alexandra316 Ah well then its a glitch for sure! I guess it doesn't matter too much as long as the listing shows the reviews.

@Mike-And-Jane0 Yes, hopefully it's not affecting how reviews are displaying elsewhere.

@Alexandra316

Yeah it seems to be universal, I just did a search for my listing and it shows the same thing Alex.

No reviews....what th.png

But directly below it the review history is shown so, it's no big deal, just another bit of programming ineptitude. But it does raise a point!

Can you imagine the public uproar if one of our major banking corporations had the number of 'glitches' in their programming that Airbnb has?

What would happen if all J.P Morgan Chase bank customers logged on and found out they had no funds....their accounts showed a zero balance!

In the real world, programming glitches like this are not allowed to happen....competent programmers are employed. Airbnb just seem to think this is simply part of the rough and tumble of every day life!

Cheers........Rob

@Robin4 agreed that it's not a big deal by itself....it seems to be the only time they're not visible. But as you say, it's just always something not working or not displaying quite right. I think a lot of it has to do with the constant changes: it seems like stuff is always different. You just get used to the way things are and then they get changed again, and there is seldom any kind of communication about it.

@Alexandra316 @Robin4   Not getting that when I click on your profile. Same as always for me-It says how many reviews and I can see all of them. Must be some regional glitch.

@Sarah977

Sarah, do you have your listing snoozed? I could not find it in a search of your area  in over 300 listings.

I wanted to check your review status but at the moment you don't show up in a general search!

Cheers........Rob

@Robin4  It isn't snoozed, but I haven't hosted since March 2020 due to Covid, I have just been blocking the dates.

@Alexandra316 I noticed that as well a few days ago.

I'm not sure but I also noticed another odd thing in my listing last night, and don't know if its a bug.

I went to my listing as a guest, clicked on the nights, and it gave me the option to include up to 5 infants. I double checked my settings and its set for two adults, not suitable for children (2-12) or infants (0-2).

So my two adult guest can include up to 5 infants at no extra cost? This seems odd as I keep cleaning supplies under the sinks, and none of the outlets have covers.

@John5097 Since your listing is not suitable for infants/children, if a guest indicates an infant or child in the guest count, they will not be able to instant book. It will come through as a request to book and then you can either accept or decline. It is odd how Airbnb sets this up but I guess they want a guest to have as many opportunities to book as possible.

@Emilia42 thanks so much! That hasn't happened however have had several moms inquire first about their infant, and I explained I don't have much experience, no covers over the plugs, etc, and they are fine with it, and bring their own crib. I kind of miss most of the families  as they were very positive, and had a blast, but the pull out sleeper just wasn't holding up to all the groups. Thanks again! Now I'll be prepared when I get a booking request.
