Airbnb google search

Just want to make you aware that what you post might appear in Google search. I had a conversation going on about Airbnb host getting city citations. Today I did a search on Short Term Ordinance for my local city. Well the whole thread is on (sorry Airbnb won't let me tell you the html site! ) I guess I will write or call Airbnb and say wtf! One host messaged me and found me. She states on this community site that you are reading "found a thread on a google search, where you had mentioned CH AirBnB"

@Elsa46   For anything that you don't want to appear on a google search, use the Host Circle!

Thank you Andrew...question, you are a level 10 what does that mean and do you know what the highest level is?  I am a level  3😒

@Elsa46  The "levels" only reflect how many times you've posted on here and nothing else. It doesn't go above 10.

We posted a reminder some months ago to hosts in the open thread about Host Circle and how to get to it so we could talk a little more openly about challenges and opportunities.

@Elsa46 Not sure why you are surprised. The internet is generally open to all after all.

It just that I thought where I was writing from was a secure tool as the Host Circle seems to be per Andrews response

@Elsa46 , I think you would be shocked at the amount of data that Google and other search engines mine and regurgitate on demand.  Folks that are not even internet users are still documented well, its a bit scary but true.  Only the most powerful people like the FBI and Twitter can make it disappear on command...  Thats even more scary to me....  Stay well, JR

If it's on the internet, then it's on the internet for everyone. Even if you think you're writing something on a closed or private thread, it 'probably' isn't private.  I was once told never to write anything you wouldn't want a) your mother; and b) your employer to see.

Good suggestion Bryan.

There are two host boards. This one requires you to be logged on. The other doesn't. Post more sensitive issues here.
