Airbnb have gone very quiet?

Am i right in thinking there have been no updates or communications from airbnb for a good few days now (i appreciate we had had Easter weekend in the middle)

Maybe i’m looking in the wrong place, or maybe they are listening and about to make some big announcements?!

Or would chance be a fine thing?

What kind of communication or update are you expecting?

Hello @Mark3205,

Nice to meet you. Just to follow up on @Luana130's question here, are you looking for an update on anything specific?

We are posting many relevant updates here in the Community Center, but for all the relevant information linked to Airbnb COVID information, I would recommend keeping an eye on the dedicated COVID area, found here

I hope this helps.

Lizzie

@Lizzie  That’s a really important link Lizzie and first time I have seen it.

Can this be pinned to the top for people who need help to see it. Because when you go to the Covid discussion page you can’t see it unless its buried way down somewhere or is it just me.

Cheers Ria

Hello @Ria16,

Glad to hear this is helpful. The links to the COVID Updates area is linked at the top of the COVID discussions board in the CC and also in all the updates topics we are sharing here in the CC (to the specific articles which live in the COVID Updates area).

It's really useful to hear ideas for how we can make our community here more aware of the updates and content that is being shared by Airbnb here in the CC (and elsewhere if you like). We have a couple of things we are working on here in the CC, to make this easier as well which I look forward to sharing with you soon.

Also, if you are signed up to receive email newsletters from Airbnb, hosts should receive a weekly digest of the update articles shared in the COVID Updates area on a weekly basis. If you aren't getting these and you have selected to receive newsletters etc in your Airbnb account settings, make sure they aren't going into your email spam area.

Thanks so much,

Lizzie

@Ria16

I am sure its not just you but from the Airbnb homepage its only 1 click to the Covid pages and then choose host or traveller. Its not exactly buried! I always recommend the Airbnb website as this Community Centre has a lot of fake news and paranoia.

Superhost Relief Fund

Starting on April 10, 2020, a specialized team at Airbnb will be inviting eligible Superhosts and hosts of experiences to apply for a relief grant via email.  Invitations to apply will go out first to long-standing Superhosts who are in the greatest financial need, by looking at the earnings decline from this year to last. This same team will evaluate applications and get in touch with hosts to let them know whether their applications are approved. All invitations will be sent out by May 15, 2020.

No it was just a polite enquiry as to whether airbnb had been listening to all the calls last week for some fairness to their refund policy given we are all being decimated by cancellations, but obviously not

Hiya all,

So, for a bit more information on this here's the following information: "We started sending support payments late last week, and some of you may have seen payments in your accounts. Our original goal was to get the first batch of payments out by mid-April and unfortunately, we're running slightly behind. We know how important these payments are, and we’re sorry. We’re working as hard as we can to get back on track. Hosts with eligible reservations will see each payment in their transaction history, and you’ll receive an email from Airbnb detailing the amount per eligible reservation. This will include a file so you can see what qualifies and how the payment was calculated."

Hope that helps provide some clarity on timeline,

Stephanie
