Airbnb insurance fake - to all hosts be aware

Unfortunately, Airnb's promise that your flat is insured is not true and a empty promise.
A guest broke our kitchen wall. After we reported it, Airbnb valued the damage at 55€.
We wrote about 20 emails with support and explained them that costs in Austria much higher. The support didn't want to help us anymore.

The Airbnb support was very rude and acted like a big boss: accept it or leave it.

How does the Airbnb damage assessment work:

- An Airbnb employee who does not live in your country searches the internet for internet staff that looks similar.
- After the internet research, that has nothing to do with reality, they write you that they found something similar and you have to accept it.

To all hosts: please be aware that Airbnb insurance is a big fake

@Mladen36 Airbnb do not offer insurance. Their Aircover for damage product is not insurance so is totally unregulated and pays out at the whim of Airbnb. All hosts need damage insurance of their own unless they are willing to take the risk. Also when Aircover does pay it only pays a depreciated amount so is often not worth having unless the item is brand new.

Sorry to say, but your situation is not new.  There are numerous such complaints on the discussion board.  All hosts need to obtain their own private/personal commercial insurance coverage. BTW home insurance does not cover what is thought to be a business, such as STR'S.
