Airbnb needs to investigate host *

I think This host is really not good host. However, i would like your opinion what do you do if you were me, let you be the judge...thank you

on dec 16, i made  booking for dec 23-26 for $1354.02  5 guests  The next day, something came up, my friend told me her mom went to hospital so we decided to postpone the booking due to this situation. I already informed the host: host said you have 48 hours to cancel. On dec 18, i’ve  decided to cancel the reservation because we don’t know if we’re coming or not until we get notify by the doctor. Later on, we heard the doctor said she’s will be ok and then we pospone the booking date on  dec 24-28 with the same host & place. This time the same airbnb host & place had increase the price. It went up to $2164.91.i asked  the host to refund from my previous booking. I only got $299.38 refund out of $ 1354.  I’ve been begging the host to give me the full refund, but  The host had refused my request several times & ignore my request and . The host tried hard to keep the  balance $ 1054.64  cancellation & stand firm with strict policy rules. I told him we postpone the trip because unexpected situation had happened to immediate family.it’s been going on & on since dec 17 but the host ** didn’t respond/ communi. ** had sent Marty to communicate with me while we’re at around the place, but never call me. Now the host ** was  accusing me as a criminal threat because he said i was threat her. I was actually trying to help the host to deal with this case. If they do, it’s great. Otherwise i would write negative feedback. Thats all i mentioned to* but ** didn’t respond / ignore this request. What should you do if you were me? Thank you

What you just described is review extortion. This is very clearly against the rules.

What I recommend is that in the future, you purchase travel insurance that covers trip cancelation, and pay attention to the cancelation policy when you place your booking.

You missed the 48 hour cancellation window. You needed to cancel IMMEDIATELY when the host said to do it.

The price increase is probably Airbnb's smart pricing. Even if it's not, a host can change their pricing any time they like. Guests get the price at the time of the booking, price changes after booking don't apply.
