Automatic blocking by AirBnB
I had a prospective guest inquire to rent but even though I got the inquiry it was "blocked" according to a small window that popped up and when asked for elaboration talked about characteristics of the booking (whole house, last minute...which it was not; is two weeks in advance) raised flags concerning parties and house damage. Regardless, after back and forth with the client clearing up details, I determined they were not a risk and sent a pre-approval. They say that AirBnB still will not let them book citing the same "risk" criteria.
How do I get this booking through?

It is the "party risk" policy preventing the guest to make the booking.

If you still want to continue, you can retract the pre-approval and sent special offer. But there is a risk Airbnb will not support you when trouble shows up.

Thanks for the input Emil. I just read the policy and it suggests that it targets under 25's and last minute booking of an entire house. The prospective guests as I have discovered through dialogue are 50-somethings, which I thought AirBnB would know. The booking is for 2 weeks away and even as a 60-something myself I do not get “last minute party call” from that. Regardless I appreciate that AirBnB is protecting me a little and themselves a lot, but once I have been warned it should be down to me to be the screener, which is something I have been doing for years. One hopes that if one of the guest accidentally slips on their own banana peel and decides to litigate, AirBnB won't come back with “we warned you” and not support one of their Super Hosts (that's me)
