Board Meeting scheduled for March 20th to discuss short term stays in the Town of Bel.Air. Md

Hello fellow hosts,  On March 20th the town of Bel-Air will be discussing short term stays in a R1 zoning.  Right now, it is against town law, but not enforced.  Please join in the discussion, even if you are not in town limits.

We would like to see a "special exception" put in place.  We will be speaking, and have letters from neighbors in support. As we all know, there is no lodging in the Bel.Air area.

Airbnb's are great for local businesses.  All our guests love staying in town.   

Please come and support.  The more hosts we have the better.

@Darlene228 , you are much better off having STR hosts from within your community versus STR hosts outside of your area. Local municipalities frown on non-owner occupied STR or STR owners who do not reside in the community or state. Local businesses who benefit from tourist and individuals you employ to maintain your/others STRs could also speak in supporting STRs. 

I have seen quite a bit of articles lately on cities/counties discussing STRs and the impact it may/may not have on neighborhoods and communities. But a lot of the arguments against STRs are based on non-owner occupied STRS and/or owners who do not live in the area/state. 

Show your local municipalities that you are invested in your community and you and others care and support the community and businesses etc… We did the same here in our area and we encouraged the city to regulate and collect “taxes” to help offset any enforcement needed to monitor STR within the city limits. To date, the city has not banned STRs and is considering some type of regulation and collection of “taxes.”
