Breaking house rules
I have never ask a guest to leave. However recently a guest broke not only 1 but 2 house rules. The first was no parties/events. The 2nd was that only the number of guests on the booking may stay in the house. I called airbnb support proved by case and had them ask the guest to leave. The guest left a bad review and I fell this is unfair however there is no recourse thru airbnb to remove the review. What it tells me is that a host cannot ask a guest to leave for breaking house rules.

@Danielle1023 Well, a bad review is always distressing, but it's not as bad as letting a scene like that continue and finding your house has been trashed.
We can't let guests just break the rules in fear of a bad review.

@Danielle1023 Airbnb asked the guest to leave on your behalf, and the message you took from that is that you can't ask the guest to leave? This makes no sense to me at all.
Yes, it's true that Airbnb doesn't prevent a guest from leaving a review after you've kicked them out. And indeed, most customer-facing businesses face the risk of negative online reviews when they enforce the rules. But very few of them have the opportunity to reciprocally review the customer.
