CRAIGS LIST SCAMMED MY AIRBNB LISTING

hello all yes I have been scammed.  I have had 3 couples arrive saying they came to pay the scammer.  Thank goodness they refused to send money via a wire to an unknown account.  however, it is unknown if anyone else has been scammed.  I have reported this to police, FTC, etc.. I would like to know if the AIRBNB community can help out.  I am not sure if I can post links here however, I would like the community to continue to send the guy requests and load up his inbox until it becomes a chore to scam.  I plan to request on social media to send this person tons of requests as well as continue to request that craigslist take it down.

My request:  log onto craigslist Seattle Tacoma.  Type in "5718 Tacoma".  if a series of photos along with a 3 car garage as well as pictures of deer please just send the scammer a request/reply.  I truly hate people being taken advantage of especially during this pandemic.  Please feel free to pass this on if this is possible at all..  I'm hoping if they are keeping busy with hundreds of replys they will move on and not scam anyone in my area.

Yeah, that's about the only "bookings" people are getting during this coronavirus shutdown. Scams. If things don't pick up by the end of June, I'm shutting down until next year.

@Randolph1  I don't understand your reasoning for what it would accomplish to send the scammer a ton of requests. It would make more sense to send him an inquiry message saying we all know he's a scammer.

Sorry to hear about this awful situation. Could you confirm you have contacted Airbnb to report these cases of fraud?

hey Stephanie, I actually have not sent any info to Airbnb b/c the scammer uses the Craigslist website however, I will notify Airbnb as well as the other short term rental sites which I use.

My sister & brother-in-law came across this with their New Jersey beach listing which was reproduced online a couple of years ago. They finally put in their actual listing "If you booked this listing on Craigslist note that it is not legitimate." Then they listed the 2 companies they book the property through.
