Can a different person stay as opposed to the person who booked my accommodation?

A first time Airbnber has booked my Annexe for 10 days.  It now transpires that he might not be staying but a colleague of his will. Is this OK?

Unless it was a business booker (Airbnb for Work), no. The 'booker' must stay, @Celia-And-Paul0.

Back in the Day I was caught out a couple of times with third-party bookings.

Apart from the fact that they are not covered by your host insurance, you can’t communicate with them directly on the Airbnb messenger platform. They are also unable to view the booking and it can often lead to miscommunication/lack of communication  or expectations not being met either side.

I’d ask them to get their colleague to set up their own account and rebook. I wouldn’t want any bookings made under my account or run the risk of receiving a poor review that wasn’t even for me.
