Good Day

i made 2 enquirers and paid for both

before I’d confirmed either

i am very upset about this.

never at any stage did I confirm the 1st enquiry as there was some info I requested by the host!

Please can I request full refund

on1st booking.

An inquiry can not be convered directly by the host into a confirmed booking  (Inquiry: you need  to use "contact the host" link on the listing, and wait for a pre-approve of the host.  After that you can decide if you want to book or not.).

 

So you probably made a booking request, which is not the same as an inquiry, and can be confrmed (automatically or manually) by the host.

 

Some listings have possibility to cancel within 48 hours and have full refund.

Maybe check the listing(s) for this

@Neil479  As Emiel said, you didn't send an Inquiry, as even if a host pre-approves an inquiry, the guest still has to go through more steps to actually book.

 

If you send a Booking Request, as soon as the host clicks on Accept, you will be charged. The guest doesn't need to confirm this.

 

If you just want to ask questions, without booking, look for the "Contact Host" that is found right under the listing description in the ad.
