Is there a setting that allows me to open up the calendar after a guest cancels instead of Airbnb automatically opening my calendar? I have a moderate cancellation policy in place which allows 5 day full refund. Last weekend I had a guest cancel for this upcoming weekend. And another guest booked with 4 minutes of his cancellation. Here’s the problem: my original guest was an Arkansas basketball fan who cancelled immediately after Arkansas lost to Duke. My listing is in New Orleans where the Final 4 is being played. A Duke fan booked within minutes of the cancellation. I have smart pricing in place and smart pricing priced the weekend at the bottom end of my range I guess because it was only 6 days out?? I would have really appreciated the chance to adjust prices and open up calendar myself. Any insights? Or is this just one of those times that I just need to go “oh well…..”?
I think Smart Pricing is not "Smart" when it comes to basketball.....
There is no setting preventing cancelled dates not being made available again.
And when you are on Instant Book, a new guest can book without your intervention.
So then these things can happen....
You can turn of Smart Pricing on the dates when important events are scheduled and set price manually. So then at least you are sure of the best price.
