I'm less than two weeks hosting. A guest booked for one night. He checked into a wrong and occupied room. I relocated him to ...
I do find the latest 'categories' on the board a bit too overlapping, and perhaps it is why the posts now are causing the moderators to move posts around so often. Perhaps we can come up with some suggestions that may be helpful to Airbnb. Below are some categories that may get you thinking.
#1. Welcome Aboard (where newcomers come and say hi, share an idea about beginning a new rental or to critique their new place.)
#2. Reviews (how to review a particular stay, how to get a review removed, share one that makes no sense, etc)
#3. Share Hosting Experiences (that could prove interesting and informative; good way to learn from each other)
#4. Managing Your Rental (underpayments, taxes, local regulations or upcoming changes in local communities, etc)
#5. Suggestions & Ideas (for Airbnb)
@Fred13 This all seems a bit Host centric. What about the guests who are rather important to all of us?
A cool category for them could be - Visiting Guests?
Be interesting to know, while on the subject, what percentage of hosts vs. guests constitutes the board's visitors.
No idea, Over the years I have seen few guests post here and usually to criticize Airbnb because of a single bad experience with some host. Supposedly 97% of those that do visit never post, so who knows.
Love this @Fred13 and you've hit the nail on the head for what several other engaged members have been saying - we will continue to improve this space (including launching a Guides board in the coming weeks).
Hey @Mike-And-Jane0 good point on guests - we're talking at the moment how better to serve our guest members when they share things - Welcoming guests just isn't right for it. Thinking a dedicated board for them but need to think about how it would work (forum logic wise)
Thanks
I agree @Fred13. The categories are vague and really don't give you an idea of where you should post.
Also perhaps #3B Share an Experience as a Guest.
Aye @Stephanie2468 . Perhaps #3A could be: "Host Stories" and #3b "Guest Stories'. It is an idea I am pushing Airbnb to do, though I realize they could become 'whining' sessions much to quickly.
