Current guest wants to extend their stay

My current guest wants to extend their stay.  I would like them to and the calendar is open to extend their stay.  I go into my calendar and see that it is open,  but the guest can only see 2 days that are open.  I know for a fact the dates are open.  I cannot change their reservation on my end as it won't let me.  What is going on ?  Why can't my guest book more days to their stay?  If they make a new reservation they will incur more cleaning fee and AirBnB fees.  Does anyone know why there is a glitch in the system ?

Can you not just take it as a direct booking, for the extension @Jocelyn377
