Dates Block on Calendar and No Help???

I had a Saturday night in January blocked on my calendar and contacted AIRBNB asking for their help opening the date and  to explain what the problem was.  I had over 20 text/phone calls and the date came & went without it being open.  They could not explain what was the cause and said their techinical team was looking into it.      Finally, I was told my Saturday night had a  requirement that it had to be rented for 222 days - something I did not do - and that was causing the issue.  But I find it interesting that all other Saturday nights were open and able to be rented for a single night.   This date came and went and was blocked.  So I missed out renting that busy Saturday night and possibiliy Sunday night as well since most of my guests stay 2-3 days.     When I tried to contact AIRBNB for an explaination and ask for compensation for that night, I was told I was not qualified for compensation because they could find no glitch on the platform.  How anyone else had this problem?   Has anyone else noticed had a ridiculous situation like this where you just get the run around and no follow up or help from AIRBNB staff????   I welcome your comments....

I only have advice for next time! If something similar happens, post the problem here with some screenshots. There are usually many people here who can help you troubleshoot and figure it out, or who can suggest a way around an issue. If it's urgent and you're not getting replies right away, let the community managers know and they will help to get answers.

Hi @April4 , @Gianmarco90 , @Shelley159  . I was trying to solve another problem and sent screenshots to support and noticed that as a guest my two listings are unavailable for rent on 2025-08-02. As a host, both in my laptop browser and on the mobile app, I see this date as normally open for potential guests. I didn't set any other rules there regarding length of stay or any restrictions regarding the inability to check in on that day.

No. I use only AirBnB platform. One multi calendar, and  few rulesets. Thx for your interest.

The Friday is blocked from check-in (1 August). Sometimes in a situation like this, the Saturday is blocked because of rule sets in the dates around it. Clear the rules for a few days around the 2nd of August (set rule sets to "none"). Then check if it's available and insert new rules that will work for you (and for the calendar) on those days.

Thanks for your help @Shelley159 . I don't want to remove the rule sets for this date because of the event that will be taking place in Warsaw then. My second listing has already been rented for this date. My rule sets only include price change from -35% to +50%. I also don't want to change the base price for this date, because unfortunately this is an irreversible process and I don't want to make a mess. However, our very necessary and useful professional calendar settings are not without errors. A year ago I was struggling with another (unsolved) problem, which I also wrote about on this forum.

When I try to book it tells me all dates around 2 August have a 3-night minimum and on Friday 1 August check-in is not allowed. If your rule set only has price changes, you can also check whether check-in is blocked in your regular calendar settings: Availability, More availability settings, Restricted check-in. Is Friday selected here?

 

If the problem remains I would delete the rule set around those nights for a few minutes for that listing only, just while you check whether 2 August opens up when you do so. If you have instant book and you worry someone may book at that moment, perhaps temporarily turn it off for that listing while you check? Once you know if a rule set is causing it, you have a way to fix it.

 

(By the way, I agree that changing the base price causes a mess)

 

Thanks for your help @Shelley159  . I did as you told me. Although I don't have any other settings in the rule sets except for changing the price, nor any restrictions about the check-in or check-out day, your advice proved effective. I turned off instant booking on these two listings, turned off the rule sets for 2025-08-02 and for a few days earlier and later. Then, from the guest position, I could make a reservation for that day. I set the same rules back for these days and turned on instant booking. Availability for guests for this period is now confirmed. I hope it won't come back. I think it would be worth it for a few people from this forum to also learn how to solve this problem. @Elisa ,  @Rebecca,  @Paula,  @Bhumika@Emilie , @Joan2709 ,  @Joelle43 , @Mike-And-Jane0 . Determining the cause on this one would require extensive access to your calendar and settings. @Shelley159 's advice about deleting the Rule Sets and then re-setting them seemed to fix the issue, even if you're not sure why?

 

I suspect as @Shelley159 did, there were other issues affecting those nights in your regular calendar that you might not have even been aware of?

 

One thing I would check on your regular calendar (often missed by Hosts) has to do with a secondary selecting of min stay by day of the week. You might check that. Otherwise, can't really pin down the issue without access to your calendar:

I'm so sorry to hear that you couldn't get the night unblocked in time. In these situations, @Shelley159 has shared some great advice - posting screenshots here in the Community Center could help, as some of our experienced hosts may be able to offer support.

 

Another option is to wait for Airbnb Support's response, as it may be a technical issue that they need to address. Hopefully, you'll have a resolution soon!
