I was asked to amuse
These boards with a poem
So I started looking for clues
And a theme that's not boring
Should I rap about the dishes
Stolen recently by a guest?
He did not do it, he wishes
His sadness immense
Not a good subject
For this festive occasion
My brain is wrecked
From Idea invasions
How about a pretend host
Whos is actually a scammer
And is here to bost.
Let's attack his bad grammar!
I can trash ABB
That's a popular topic
So much I can bash
But that might by myopic
Instead let's all play
A game of some rhyme
Can we do it all day?
I bet you a dime!
I will start with a sentence
Please, you make another
My only condition:
Be nice to each other
I am going to start us off and lets see how long we can keep this going! Lets have fun!
I put decorations on my Holiday tree
My pet porcupine broke 7, that left me with three
excellent!
No guest you may fear
You are a brave host
You are a poet like Shakespeare
You can accommodated even a ghost
without getting lost
To host or not to host
That is the question
If danger rises before you
All you need is prompt action
Can you remember, remember all guests name?
As they flow through your life
A thousand stays, you still call it a game
Even the cold spirits of ice
All your life, they are the echo of your past!
*The last stanza (last 5 lines it was a pun on a D. Purple lyric)
(Inna's line here):
I put decorations on my Holiday tree
My pet porcupine broke 7, that left me with three
(My line, here):
So I booked a trip for my porcupine and me
He is my 'emotional support' animal -
So he travels for free.
@Rebecca181 hilarious. And would have been a joke but we all know might come true for a host somewhere.
Salute @Inna22,
I totally agree with Kevin 1322. Thank you for sharing with us this interesting and amazing poem
Thanks,

Following on from Inna and Rebecca:

(Rebecca’s lines, here):

So he travels for free.
(My lines)
“Travels for free you say with a grin
No need for a crate, he sits near my shin.
but there lies the point, as my shin splints inflame...
for porcupine rubs my legs the wrong way...”

Mine:
He leaves his quills in the sofa and under the drapes,
He eats beds and tables, he breaks cups and plates,
He's not fully housebroken, in the wild he'd live in a tree,
But you should feel lucky you get to host me!
For as a Superhost and guest there are none who compare
In the city of Chicago, all other hosts should beware
Me and my porcupine: we have no match!
If you need a place in the Windy City, choose Inna, natch!
I'll keep you laughing with my tales of excitement and woe
Of drunken housekeepers who just need to go
And cleaners who crash and wreck my stash of coffee
If something crazy's going to happen, it'll happen to me!
