Describe your 2024 as a host in one word

Hosting 2024 Airbnb Community Center.jpeg

Hello everyone 👋

As the year comes to an end, many of us reflect on how the last 12 months have gone. Whether it was full of ups, some downs, surprises or interesting meets, I think it’s safe to say we’ve all had yet another big year.

With that in mind, I’d like to invite you to look back on 2024 together: can you think of one word that encapsulates the past year for you?

Looking forward to reading all your words of choice! 😃

Wishing you all the best,
Rebecca

@Martin5848 Your use of interesting interests me! What is one tactic you have used this year to develop your business, that you could share with us to inspire other hosts? 💡

One thing I have dome is to talk to the other hosts in the area including motels to establish credibility and expressed a willingness to take referrals if they are full.

Agradecido

Buenas!!!!

Grateful

Hi!!!!

The truth is that I have only been hosting on Airbnb for a short time, but it has been enough to know that Airbnb is with me and does not leave hosts to their own devices when problems arise with reservations.

For this reason, I want to publicly express my gratitude to the platform in general and to the customer service department in particular.

Happy holidays to everyone and here's to a 2025 full of challenges and hopes to be fulfilled!

@Pervez3 Could you share one anecdote that captures how entertaining this year has been? 😃

@Emilie My three adult children and their spouses suggested that we downsize and travel the world. However, my wife disagreed, saying she loved our large condo and wanted to be near our children and grandkids.

Airbnb guests brought the world to us at our home.

  1. An adult guest became our new daughter with her 18-year-old son as our new grandchild
  2. An Asian guest on a business trip become my new best friend
  3. An old-time resident of the area returned after 20 years to meet her long-time friends and we had our morning coffee together reminiscing while watching Yonge Street.

All this happened in the past three months when we joined Airbnb. We are happy, lucky and blessed.

Batool and Pervez

Hello @Pervez3, thank you so much for sharing this! It's wonderful to hear about the great experiences you've had in just three months. What would you say is your biggest learning from these experiences? 🙂

@Liz6960 What a wonderful word to summarise your year! 😍

I'm curious, what made hosting so heart lifting for you? Was it generally meeting your lovely guests, or a specific experience perhaps?
