Drive-by baby shower

Drive-by baby shower

Hello,

I am in the Pasadena, CA area and am looking to rent a home for one night that has a front lawn/area and little street traffic where I may have a drive-by baby shower.  (I live in an apartment complex where this is not possible).

Any other suggestions on where I may rent such a place/ hold a drive-by baby shower are also welcomed.

I must admit I've never heard of a "drive-by baby shower" but it's doubtful that this would be acceptable by the neighbors of an Airbnb (and Airbnb hosts are naturally very conscious, or should be, of not antagonizing the neighbors), just as it's not acceptable where you live.

As I'm not clear on exactly what this sort of event looks like, I don't know what sort of venues to suggest.

Good point some may not be familiar with what this is. Drive-by baby showers are common events being held due to COVID by expecting mothers. Family and friends drive up to drop off gifts (there are typically a few small decorations on the front lawn- balloons) and the mom spends a couple of minutes saying hello (from a distance), may have some sort of raffle or guessing game, and provides a baby shower favor and the guest then drive off. Please note they are not loud/antagonizing. Noting I cannot have this where I live because I live in a large complex where it is not feasible to set up such a “drive-by” event due to the way the complex is structured. Thanks

It's incredibly unlikely during Covid especially (what are the current restrictions where you live) that the majority of hosts would allow this. @Dominique1235

@Dominique1235  Thanks for explaining. The issue for neighborhood, even if it's not loud, would be a bunch of cars driving by all day and stopping out front. It's doubtful that an Airbnb host would have enough space in front of the house for what sounds like could be several cars at one time, and the attendees would quite possibly be parking in front of other homes and driveways. You said in your original post a street with little traffic. Well, people own homes in those areas precisely because there is little traffic, which is the opposite of what you want to plan.

A place out of town in the countryside could work, but then that would likely discourage a lot of people from driving out.

And I'll give you a tip- you have a completely blank profile, no reviews, no profile photo, and no profile write-up. Very few hosts would even consider renting to a guest who has provided no info about themselves.

Maybe there is some small local community hall with outdoor space you could rent for this?

@Dominique1235   I would suggest that if you are unable to conduct a drive by shower from your home that you have a ZOOM shower.  Have the guests drop off the gifts to a location prior to the shower that the expectant mom can then go to and ZOOM from while opening the gifts.
