I was wondering what other hosts are doing for refunds for their guests who are evacuated due to fires? I think 50 % is reasonable? Any suggestions?
can Airbnb override my refund and force me to give them all their money back?
If there is a government advisory against travel they will get ALL their money back under Airbnb's EC policy @Gina1603
@Gina1603 If the guest cannot stay due to a natural disaster I don’t think you can charge them. I also think you are setting yourself up for a bad review if you do. If it’s not too late I would try to give a full refund ASAP.
@Gina1603 It's good practice to never refund a guest for a booking. As Airbnb handles refunds, you may inadvertently give them money back they are not due. The guest can cancel, citing extenuating circumstances (natural disaster) and Airbnb will refund them accordingly, for nights not spent. Your normal cancellation policy is over ridden.
