I spent some time looking for an update about this here in the CC, but couldn't seem to find a whisper of it. Did I miss it?
If I didn't miss it,@Catherine-Powell , as our new Head of Hosting, letting your hosts know that this is coming down the pipe before we see it in the media is the kind of transparency that we've been asking for. Kindly consider making use of Airbnb Updates to keep us in the loop as new policies are developed, rather than for pollyanna-ish propaganda.
What's NOT news is that Airbnb considers "Instituting a global ban on parties and events is in the best interest of public health", rather than in the best interests of it's 73% of hosts who already don't allow parties, but end up with them anyway without being backed up by the platform.
I see in the article, this new policy (that apparently affects 1/4 of worldwide hosts) was released a day after Airbnb filed for its IPO with regulators. Coincidence?
BTW - how's the ban on so-called "party houses" going? Anyone know?
