Happy 6 month Anniversary (to me!) lol. We CAN do this!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share (especially for those now on their journey), wondering if it was worth all the upfront, all the daily grind, different personalities etc, that come with allowing absolute strangers into your most private space on the planet - our HOME.

Over the past 6 months (cannot believe the time), I have had what initially seemed like a roller coaster, only to learn that that was just part of the journey. The connection made , cultural exchange and mutual sharing I have experienced with my guests , while making sure I always had toilet paper (for example!), has been enjoyable and productive.

I have much to learn, for sure, but I am grateful for the international connection, the helpful advice, and the amazing , practical and caring advice and assistance from the Support Team.

I started with faith, hope and hardwork. The easy part? You just have to be YOURSELF and all will be well in the end.

Cheers to all who have started, those like me who have started to "crawl" as we learn from the experts how to be super in the journey of hosting!

Just sharing!

Lana😎🌻😊

Happy 6-months, @Lana1222! And thanks for sharing this; it hit at just the right time.

Been doing a bit of reflecting myself today… it’s actually my birthday. Thought I’d be a little further down the trail by now, to be honest. But I’m realizing that having a couple seasons under my belt (complete with mud, bugs, burnt firewood, and all) is probably exactly what I needed to slow down, learn properly, and (maybe most importantly) enjoy the journey more than if I’d rushed in the way I first planned.

Cheers to growth, grit, and figuring it out as we go. Glad to be on the journey with folks like you.

Congratulations for this 6 months of hosting, @Lana1222! 🤗

I'm sure this is the beginning of a wonderful story, and this will help a lot of hosts who are doubting whether they should start in the world of hosting. 🏡

What would you say is the most important thing that you learned during these 6 months?  💭

Best,
Alex

Hello @Alex !

Thank you for your reply.

I would say just being myself, taking them around the home so they get comfortable, and a simple welcome basket with a few treats help make guests comfortable.

Basic Golden Rule principles.
