Has Airbnb been slipping post Covid?

Just spent 3 days planning a 21 day vacation to Mexico, and had 14 days cancelled due to owners no longer owning listed properties and properties being double booked.  Had to cancel the whole vacation!  Thank goodness the airline refunded my fair inside 24 hrs.  We had very good experiences previously, but this was so disheartening.  The one owner that responded seemed to be in Airbnb’s favour.  Any renter takes on this. I am sure for every 1 bad experience, there are probably 9 good.  I want to hear from those that have had bad experiences, as they are truely devastating.  Hoping this is an isolated case, but maybe not?

@Stacy351 the fact that guest like you are being let down in this way by hosts is, I guess, the reason why Airbnb has significantly increased their penalties for hosts cancelling bookings. Let's hope this discourages bad behaviour going forward.
