Have you ever been rejected because you are a host?‌‌

My husband has to travel for work this upcoming weekend. He is stressed about it in this time of Covid and its short notice. He IBed a place in the city where he is headed today after getting his health certificate for travel. The host messaged a few hours later that they have a pipe burst and asked him to cancel. He is a polite guy and said ok. The days are still open on this listing and if I wanted to book it right now I could. But whatever.

He chose another spot that did not have IB. Wrote a nice note to the host with a pic of his clean bill of health Covid results. The host wrote back that she was sorry but she does not host other hosts. My husband is just getting a hotel now.

Besides being the world's nicest person he has 2 reviews from good friends that are glowing so I am sure his star score is fine for IB. He is in no way a difficult guest. Has anyone had this happen?

@Branka-and-Silvia0  Reminds me of the housesitter from hell I had years ago. Within 2 days of me leaving for a 5 week getaway, she had emailed me a numbered list of 20 things she could change at my place "so it would all work much better".

Everything worked fine and there were good reasons why all those 20 things were set up the way they were and why what she wanted to do would be disastrous.

I had to tell her that I engaged her as a house and dog sitter, not as a lifestyle coach, and not to dare change anything.

@Sarah977  exactly my point  🙂 but, just to let you know, despite you are being a host, I would be very happy to host you 😉 I would probably even ask you for advice 😄 ❤️

@Branka-and-Silvia0  And if ever I make it to Zagreb, I wouldn't even bother to look through the listings, I'd be booking with you for sure 🙂

yeah @Sarah977 , don't bother to look at the listing, you would stay at my house with me anyway and not alone in my ABB apt.  And we will drink for Airbnb's  20% 😛 😄

@Branka-and-Silvia0 And smoke!

@Sarah977
