Hosts near me

I would like to reach out to hosts in my area to share resources, ideas, etc. However, it seems the only way I can contact a host directly is to inquire about a booking, which I don't want to mislead.  What am I missing?

Agreed..many a time wanted to  dm another host after looking at their listing…

airbnb is a booking channel, and a revenue generation tool…not a communication tool for hosts….
