I’m glad we get to maintain our SuperHost status

We have the old fashioned kind of Airbnb: a guest bedroom and bathroom in our house, with us. We put it on hold from the beginning of Covid until August, then opened again until Dec. To do it we installed a kitchenette in the guest bedroom closet, and we close the door between the front of the house where the guests stay, and the back where we do. But it’s a bit constraining to only live in our kitchen, bedroom, and office, and we miss the guest interaction. They have their room and bath plus living and dining room, so it’s very nice for them. But now that we are on lockdown again we’ve blocked the room until things get safer.

its really been a shame not being able to host, both for the social aspects and the money. We can’t wait for things to be able to open up safely again. I just hope we can keep our SuperHost badge until they do.

Same here. There is even a separate outside entrance to the guest quarters at my place, but unfortunately, there is literally no space at all in the guest room/bath (they don't have any living room area) to put any kitchenette, even a really minimal one, so I haven't been able to host since early March. I really miss it- I got such interesting and lovely guests from far flung places.

Me too. Henry and I had a private guest bedroom+bath in our apartment, with the living room and kitchen shared. We haven't hosted at all this year and while it was nice having the apartment all to ourselves for a while at first, we also miss hosting a lot.

I'm glad to hear there are others like us out there. The vaccines are starting to be given out, so let's hope that this year we can all get back to hosting.

I totally hear you. It's been a hard 2020 and I hope for a better 2021. We've had to drastically reduce (if not eliminate) guest interaction and have had to take measures to protect guests and ourselves from the pandemic. But soon the vaccines will roll out and we will get through this. Glad to fight through this with you all.

Respectfully,

Jason
