I need your support please

I have been a loyal Airbnb host in Cambridge/Boston since 2013.  In 2019, i moved to Providence in Rhodes Island, where I invested in a much bigger property, a three family property so I can host more Airbnb guests. I spent money renovating the property so it is up to the Airbnb standards. Between my move, the renovating work, etc.; i was finally ready to host by mid November 2019. That is exactly what I did but Airbnb stripped me of my super host status sometime in the beginning of 2020 because they said I didn't have enough reviews. I still had excellent reviews though and I was missing one more review to make the cut when they stripped me of my super host status. Here I was trying to start off a new property after so much hard work and hard earned cash spent for the purpose of continuing to be an Airbnb host.

Now, with everything that is happening I am in even worst situation! The down payment for buying of the property and renovating it cost about $160,000 and I currently carry a $2,200 monthly mortgage payment. I have a beautiful property two of the apartments are furnished but empty with no guests at the horizons for now.

I proactively looked for work the beginning of the year and started working two jobs one as a full time temp through Randstad and my second job was a part time cashier.  Because of the current situation I was laid off last Monday from my office job and last Thursday i broke my leg so I am on leave with no pay from my part time job as well.

I ask that you please reinstate my super host status so i can at least apply for some of the super host benefits.

Here I am now lying down with a broken leg with no income. I would really appreciate it if i can get some help. I need help please.

Thank you!

Najat,

I understand how you feel as I have had a similar experience but less severe as yours. I was feeling very sorry for myself as I too have invested in my property by spending over $100,000 on an addition to my home to add another bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and lanai finishing the construction Feb 1, 2020.  I felt devastated when I had over $3000 cancellations in April and May.  I was feeling very sorry for myself until I read your story. We can get through this. We have to stay positive.  We become stronger after going through this by staying together and having gratitude for what we do have.  Hopefully we will stay healthy from Coronavirus.  We can be grateful that we do no not have that plague.
