Joe Gebbia joins DOGE

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else concerned that Joe Gebbia has joined DOGE?

Does he still earn income from Airbnb as a board member? This makes me very sad as I can't support a guy like that.  I really like the service airbnb provides and the ease of use for a host.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Thanks for sharing your thought. I just checked the website for Airbnb.org and Airbnb.com for a list of their directors. Joe Gebbia is on the board for both organization. Definitely will write email to the Nathan and Brian. Cheers!

Thank you for supplying email addresses. I just wrote and will be awaiting a response before deleting my listing here in Sweden. This isn’t just about the USA. Other countries are very much in trouble because of Trump/Vance/Musk

Letters, emails and phone calls can be shrugged off.  Don't think that is going to save hosts from our choices and the impact that they have. While inconvenient for many to hear-  (ACTIONS) aka MONEY speaks LOUNDER than words!

I am an early adopter of Airbnb - booking most of my vacations on it for over a decade and  a Superhost myself.  This is devastating.  I will be making start booking vacations on VRBO and creating a post for my property on VRBO to eventually withdraw my cabin from Airbnb.  This one hurts, but it's important to do.

I am so disheartened. This is my only income right now and I have been so grateful to keep my life simple as the world around us gets more and more complex. I love being a host and don't like the power dynamics involved in being a landlord. Feeling so deflated and resentful that I have to make one more decision with not enough information. The other digital platforms all have dirty records so I don't think switching makes much difference. For now I have blocked off all dates that are not already booked and am taking some time to think and talk to my peers and community. No point cancelling current bookings. This conversation helps.

I totally agree!  I called SuperHost Support and expressed my thoughts about how this association is in conflict to Airbnb's stated Values.  I got the impression they are getting many calls...keep it up!

The Support team member sent me the link to give written feedback also, which I used.

Big mistake for AirB&B users, and shareholders. I'm concerned that it will directly affect my bookings for 2025. I've already had one cancellation because of it.
He should distance himself from Musk or from AirB&B.

I'm very disappointed.

Shall we all get together as hosts world wide and QUIT AIRBNB as one? I think we should/must. How to go about setting this up. I want NOTHING to do with skuM's rise in FASCISM.... 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Start by opening an account elsewhere.  I am going to open an account at VRBO while I write to Airbnb and ask the to remove Joe Gebbia.
