Am just starting out and was wondering if at first not to use instant book, just until comfortable with settings etc?

Without Instant Book (IB) you are in full control about acceptence of a booking.

You can also ask the potential guests first some questions

You can enable IB later , if desired.

(BTW I myself never used IB)

@Rebecca1696  Yes! It is a very smart idea for new hosts to turn off Instant Booking until you are comfortable with the platform. Also, when you do decide to enable IB, you can require Government ID verified and at least one positive review from a host in order for someone to IB. This doesn't always guarantee a good guest, but it certainly ups your odds.
