Hello everyone,
A warm welcome to the Community Center.
This discussion is for introducing yourself to your fellow Airbnb Community members, as well as welcoming and saying hello to newcomers in return. Thanks to all of you who have already introduced yourself and contributed in our previous thread, here.
I'm Lizzie and I am the Community Manager here, along with my teammate @Quincy. I have been managing the Airbnb Community Center since it officially opened in November 2015. It is fantastic to speak with amazing community members here.
To kickstart this topic, I would like to share a few things about myself:
How about you? Any interesting facts or hobbies?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Lizzie

Hi everyone!
My daughters and sons-in-law have used Airbnb for several years for business and pleasure. When my mom moved out of our carriage house they encouraged us to try hosting through Airbnb. My husband and I have enjoyed the project of getting our place ready. We have had one guest to-date with about a half dozen bookings in the next several weeks. Our home is in Augusta, GA. Augusta is home to the Master’s Golf Tournament. Augusta has a very extensive medical community with the Medical College of George at Augusta University. Fort Gordon with the Signal School and CyberCommand post draws a large military community as well. We look forward to using Airbnb for our own travel as well as hosting many more Airbnb guests.
Hi every one. Nice meeting you and hopefully all is well with you all. Am an advocate by proffession but i love talking and relating with people from different sorts if life.
I love making new friends. Am cheerful humble most times until am moved and i plan to relate with my guests.
I love new experiences not just by physical things but also the invissible and i plan to use airbnb to rediscover the best of me or more. Love you all and God bless you
I am a journey woman on the hosting scene in Australia.
I love travelling too but I do not like getting there-huge airports/disruptions.
My favourite place Is Bali Ubud for yoga retreats also India -in India I learnt some simple conservation ideas- eg
A sarong could morph into a curtain or a room divider.Water was scarse so used it sparingly-here I have water tanks.Electricity onky ran a few hours a day -conserving some energy wastage-
no TV etc

Hi everyone
I'm Dee from Sydney, Australia. I am very new to this, just put my house on, feeling a bit overwhelmed by these discussions ..... have had no interest yet but it is for a month in June so not a good time to start, too cold. I have read much of the handy Hint section etc but until I start hosting people I have no idea how it will go.
Thanks
Dee
Lizzie, I share your love of music. During my school years I spent my spare time away from books and writing at my piano and recitals with others in my community of south Florida. Now in Highlands, NC
I sing soprano in the church choir each Sunday morning and play handbells Tuesday evenings with community concerts 3-5 times a year. From dancing snd singing with my mother's favorites Julie Andrews, Mary Martin, Nat King Cole, and Mario Lanzo to Barbara Streisand, the Beatles, the Doors, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd on the piano, voice, and present day handbells, I have a rich musical experience. My brothers played the piano, accordion, Jaw harp, and ukulele, so I often sang along at their practices and lessons.
Now I host a beautiful home owned by two international music professionals, a coloratura soprano, former professor, now a judge for voice in Cuba, Peru, and Spain and a classical concert pianist, former professor
who was her accompanist and soloist. Their three level, spacious home is Mount Lori Place. They have surround sound on the main level, as well as a technical advisor and year round caretaker who maintains the equipment and hires the meticulous cleaning crew.
Thank you to Airbnb for the past three years for their kind, respectful service, professionalism, and problem solving. I have rented houses in the Highlands Community for over 20 years and enjoyed the
enthusiasm and respect of our short term vacationers.

Hello, everyone!
My name is Tudor and I I’ve spent my entire life in Bucharest. Yes, I absolutely love and I`m a strong ambassador of Bucharest.
My favourite activities are spending time with my 3 years old daughter, cycling, learning Hebrew, travelling, going out with my friends and, by weekend mornings, to enjoy the greatest coffee in Bucharest.
I'd like to meet anyone of you in person, but until then, I invite you in my place, a cosy ultra-central modern apartment, recently renovated at the end of 2018, located in the heart of Bucharest.
Remember, the touristic year in Bucharest has already started from March, 1st.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Tudor
Hi everyone! Im a new co host trying to figure out more effective ways to get an overview of all this. Until now I`ve been just the paper lady getting the Board official as a company and so so...
Our Airbnb is located in Oslo, Norway, where I come from. My co hosters are french, english and another Norwegian. Only men. We dont agree on the interior and aesthetics, ha ha. Surprise!!!! But I just suggest, rolle my eyes and let it go...
Our company is named Huset Hostel. We are in progress, also on social media.
About me. I work as a support specialist in software and as a coordinator for Norwegian Society for Protection of Animals. I live with 4 rescued bunnies. And my best friend is one of my co hoster dog. You can see her at our Instagram account. When the weather is warmer my bunnies will play in our Airbnb backyard. Im so excited to show them summer and fresh grass is here again to run and do happy hops around. I hope our guest will love and respect them almost as much as I do.
HI there everyone,
My name is Bev and Im a superhost in Cape Town. Sadly due to tragic unforseen circumstances I have to close my airbnb in 4 months times. I was just wondering how to reach people who are perhaps looking for someone to manage their airbnb. If you could direct me to the right site for this question. Thank You
Hello Y’all!
My name is Jarrar and I have started hosting few weeks back, in Karachi, Pakistan. I have just explored the community centre and cannot wait to interact with hosts from around the world.
Apart from this, I am running a tourism company which specialises in Alpine expeditions, trekking and hiking into the wilderness, in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. I love travelling and planning to explore the world from pole to pole. It will take me some years perhaps but I know that it is my raison d être.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Cheers and love,
Jarrar Kazim
Hello,
I am Eliza, my family and I are new to Airbnb. We are also first time hosts to our dream lake house. We living in NYC and like to getaway to nature on weekends and holidays. Our house is very special to us and we would like to maintain its condition for as long as possible and continue to build memories there. As other families and circumstances we also want to make use of the house as best as we can financially so that is how we ended up on Airbnb.
We are so excited and scared at the same time. I want to to make a great impression to my first guests. Please share any tips you can to first time hosts!
My biggest tips would be to make sure everything is nice and clean and even if you don't meet your guests in person be sure to communicate with them via the AirBnB app. Deep breath. It'll all turn out just fine!
Hi I’m Marilyn,
I’ve just gained Superhost status and am happy to be joining the community. I love introducing guests to our area of Cornwall and all its beauty. It’s exciting meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any of this without my husband Phil (our chef) and particularly my daughter, Sarah, who does just about everything to ensure our guests enjoy their stay with us. Together we are a great team. We are looking forward to this season and meeting new friends from around the globe.
Hi Everybody,
My name is Dina @Dina0_teresa7 and my house is @grannies.house on Madeira Island. This Stunning House caters up to 10 individuals. In the heart of Machico village.
I am originlly from Sunny South Africa and moved to Madeira Island a year ago. The house belongs to 2 brothers who renovated and flipped it into a holiday home. They live in the UK.
I moved with my 4 kids ( 5 yrs, 8 yrs and twin boys 14yrs)
I started this home on AirBnB and am slowly finding my feet around the system. Unfortunately AirBnB has not been as successful as my other hosting sites that I use.
I had no clue as to the legalities of the system and everything else that came up with holiday homes. Together with some logic and research and my all round positivity I managed to grasp quite a bit.
Tips and making friends abroad are always welcome.
Looking forward to more chats and tips and advise. (And maybe some trips.)
HUGS AND KISSES
Dina
