Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca and @Elisa and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards,
Bhumika
Hi @Dee1863 ๐
A huge welcome to the Community Center! It's great to have you here with us.
Feel free to start a conversation and ask any questions you may have! ๐
Not sure how to introduce myself other start a new post or reply to your post.
I am carey, i live in Kenwood, CA. we hosted our home in bodega bay, ca for many years & now are hosting our home on whidbey island, WA. I enjoy hosting.
I did have a question about declining a booking that seemed suspicious for a few reasons...but the majority of the reponses to that type of questions lean towards having faith an accepting. I still feel like there is more room for discussion.
Happy to be a part of the community.
Hi Carey ๐
Welcome to the Airbnb community! It's great to have you here. I see that you have experience hosting and are now hosting your home on Whidbey Island, WA. That's fantastic! I'd love to hear more about your hosting experience. How has it been so far?
Feel free to start a conversation and ask any questions you may have! ๐
Ask questions where appropriate but at the end of the day you should trust your instincts! I've been doing rentals since 2006 and the bookings that seem suspicious are very rare but when they seem 'off', they just might be off.
Hello Rebecca,
I'm new to Airbnb, and my first booking for 16 nights, which was non-refundable, was canceled by Airbnb while the guest was checking in! My account was suspended, and I haven't heard from Airbnb's special support team yet. Is this normal?
Hi everyone @Rebecca ,
My name is Jummy. I'm from Sutton MA. My family just got a property in a beach community up in Groton, Connecticut. And I see a big potential for airbnb in the property. I look forward to learning from you all. I would appreciate if someone can mentor me.
Hi @Seretta0 ๐

Hi @Alan1843 ๐
The cabin on the lake sounds fantastic and Gloucester is a beautiful area of the country. We spent a lot of time there when I was growing up!
Have you had a look around the Community Center? With 3 years of Hosting behind you, I"m sure you've got lots of solutions and support to offer Hosts. ๐
By the way, if you type "@" and then the username, this will tag the member that you're replying to. This ensures that they get a notification that you've replied to them specifically ๐ค I hope this helps to keep the conversation flowing, and if you've got any questions, just ask. Have a wonderful day! ๐ผ
Hello everyone,
I am Shanthagomathi, from Dharapuram, Tamilnadu, India.

Huge thanks to team of airbnb and wishing you a good day to everyone.
Hi @Shanthagomathi0 ๐

Many thanks.
HI Bhumika and All!
Grateful for the community...
I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and host through my 3 stunningly designed, cozy casitas filled with original artwork and every amenity!
The houses are an 8 minute walk from the historic Plaza, and 5 minutes from the coolest, contemporary Railyard Arts District. Guests can park, and never hop into their car until they leave. Minutes from our two contemporary art museums, local breweries, farmers market, hottest galleries Canyon Road, and shopping galore.
It's heaven! Come Visit!
I've been renting through a management company which is underutilizing the listing, so I took it over myself.
I'd love any tips or ideas you may share.
Looking forward to supporting one another in our journeys of adventure and abundance!
All the Best, Robbi Firestone
