Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca and @Elisa and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards,
Bhumika

Hello!
My name is Gwendolyn from southside Virginia.
When I dropped my younger son off at college two years ago, I decided to begin hosting through Airbnb. I was formerly in public school administration and now have a project of setting the Bible to music (Sing the KJV). I give private music lessons, conduct children's choirs, and occasionally throw pottery.
I have loved treating my guests with the kindness that I would personal friends who come to visit and look forward to being a part of this community.
Hi @Gwendolyn68 👋
Thank you Rebecca!
In general I have had really great guests, but I had one recently who I felt was not keeping my quiet hours, yet I didn't want to confront her about it. I was unsure of whether to leave a negative review, and then when she left, she asked if I wanted to check to make sure everything was ok. All was in great condition and she said she hoped her music hadn't bothered me. I told her it was kinda loud but partly the problem is the house. I was so glad I had that personal interaction as she checked out, and saw she was a very considerate person. So my tip is to connect with guests if possible, and give people the benefit of the doubt.
That's really beautiful @Gwendolyn68 😍 I bet it made a difference to her stay too, having that honest and respectful dialogue. We're only human at the end of the day!
How have you found hosting these past two years? 😊
It's been very rewarding. The biggest thing I've been unsure of is if/how to meet my guests since they have a private entrance to the entire lower level of my home. I thought people probably just want to come have a private place to stay and be left to themselves. However the times I was able to chat with people outside has been really nice and I could make more of an effort to meet them outside if I thought they wanted that! Do you have advice on this?
Hello , I'm new from Turkey and I wish you all a happy day.

All the best,
Hi, I am originally from Venezuela, live in Montreal Canada and have 2 properties on airbnb.
I was wondering if I can add some sort of terms and conditions either to sign or just acknowledge for the use of property, amenities, equipment etc. in case something b ad happens...
I believe I saw a place e where I could upload like a rental agreement, but can't find it now
