Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca and @Elisa and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards,
Bhumika
Hi everyone! My name is Meribeth. My husband and I are originally from Texas and retired back home to Texas 2020, after moving around the US for 13 years and some world travel.
We are empty nester with 4 kids that live around the US. In the past 4 years we’ve designed and built our “forever” home and took care of both of my parents who passed over the last 2 years.
2024 found us without a “project” and without a mountain home for the first time in 55+ years. So-we went to the Blue Ridge Mountains bought a “camp”(condo) and did a full remodel.
When we travel we love booking with airbnb and it’s something I wanted to do with the family place in Colorado but alas, the older generation just sold it.
After remodeling we decided to airbnb it when we aren’t here. We already had our first guest and 2 more booked. And 1 scammer- which led me to this community. Fortunately, the scammer showed themselves before we booked them and airbnb was very helpful. But, it would be great to connect with a group of experienced hosts.
We are excited for this next adventure!
Hi @Meribeth2 , Welcome to the Community! It's wonderful to hear about your journey of becoming an Airbnb Host.
Remodeling and diving deep into hosting shenanigans sounds like such an exciting step—congratulations on your first bookings! 😍
What do you enjoy most about hosting in the mountains?
It’s my happy place.. the view.. the mountains and it’s not 100 degrees! And a very friendly community and town. It’s lovely so we wanted to share it- hopefully our guests find joy and peace here also.
Hello all. I’m Rainy from USA hosting in Tulum, Mexico. I am new to hosting and a new resident of Mexico. I love the beach, traveling, and discovering new foods.
Hi @Casa-Ohana-Team0 , Welcome to the Community Center! 😍
How has your hosting journey been? Have there been any memorable guest experiences so far?
Hello everyone,
I am so excited to meet you all from all over the world. My name is Kansas. I live in Ohio, USA. In addition to being an Airbnb co-host, I am a caregiver and professional cleaner.
Hi @Kansas0 , Welcome to the Community! 🌻
With your professional background, you must be bringing in a lot of attention to details to create memorable guest stays. Do you have any tips to share with other Hosts? What inspired you to start co-hosting on Airbnb?
Hello! I live in the North Carolina mountains, USA, a slice of Appalachia and Cherokee native land. My husband and I run a school for outdoor professionals, so we've been hosting faculty and students for decades. Recently we thought we'd host our cabin/faculty house when we didn't have any courses running, since we are surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Tuskaseigee River (fly fishing, kayaking, tubing, rafting), Cherokee and casinos, Asheville and the Biltmore House, the Blue Ridge Parkway - something for everyone!
It has been a very fun side adventure, and we are loving our guests and continually fixing our cabin space to suit more people. I've been surprised how quickly our vacancies have filled!
Hello @Mairi45,
Wow, that was a fantastic idea! I'm so glad to hear it's been working well for you 😎
If you could offer one piece of advice to new Hosts for achieving success, what would it be?
I look forward to learning from your experience! 🌻
Best regards,
Be prepared to be flexible, but also identify your dealbreakers. I rarely accept a last-minute request because I don’t want to be rushed or have to change my plans to get the cabin ready. But I constantly observe how my guests use our cabin and tailor it to their interests. I am regularly updating photos if I move furniture or change bed coverings. I listen to my guests suggestions and decide how to incorporate them for future visits.
@Lauralie: I live in Murphy, North Carolina in the USA in a beautiful mountain cabin. Located in the Appalachian Mountains at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. My late husband and I retired and moved from Florida to our cabin 5 years ago. Since his passing I decided to keep it as an investment property and private vacation home.
My question is, although I’ve done a lot of work on my listing, it’s not ready yet. Can someone confirm it’s not posted please?
Hi @Lauralie0
welcome to the community. 😊
I love mountains as well. Have you ever been to the Italian mountains, The Dolomites?
In your profile I can see that you still appear as guests, so I think your listing is not yet posted on Airbnb. Have you changed the listing status to publish it live?
Warm regards,

This is Tush and I am also from Gujarat. Used to serve as a professor and now managing educational institution here in Edmonton for last a few years. Traveling, meeting new people, exploring world culture, watching movies, reading, and playing music are some of the hobbies I have cultivated.
I would like to learn from everyone's experiences while managing my air bnb property.
Thanks again
