New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here ‌👇

Hello everyone! 😊

Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika  🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.

@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘

@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards🌻,

Elisa

I come from a software engineering background, but over time, my curiosity about how platforms like social media, search engines, and e-commerce work turned into a full-time passion for marketing.

I’ve spent Ten years  diving into the psychology of what makes people click, buy, and engage—whether it’s crafting the perfect product description or optimizing listings for visibility.

What excites me about Airbnb
The way the platform functions is so similar to other digital ecosystems I’ve worked with, from search algorithms to understanding buyer psychology. I’m eager to apply those skills to create a guest experience that stands out—not just in terms of visibility but also in delivering what guests truly want.

Here’s something I’ve been working on recently

I’ve reviewed over 5,000 reviews from properties priced over $500 a night, analyzing what guests are truly looking for, their state of mind when they land on Airbnb,

how they compare pricing, and the exact words they use when they’re happy with their stay or host.

This research has given me invaluable insights into guest psychology and behavior.

I’ve already started applying these findings to people in my circle, and the results have been amazing: more page views and more bookings.

I’ll be sharing these insights here in the community because I believe they can help us all create better experiences for our guests.

I’d love to connect with hosts, learn from your experiences, and share my knowledge wherever it can help.

If you’re curious about how SEO, marketing, or buyer psychology can elevate your listings, let’s talk!

Looking forward to being part of this inspiring community. 🙌

My name is Stephen, and I was a host for a year in 2019.  Things seemed to have changed quite a bit with the forms, info, options, etc..   I live in Santa Fe, NM and in the last 4 years turned a store room and garage into a living space, which is where we moved into.  I just listed my old house, which I renovated and added onto during those 4 years, as my rental.  I  have a few questions related, which I hope to get answered in this forum. I will start with the Critique My Listing link I see below from Paula.

Hi @Wejdene0 , thank you for introducing yourself to the community!

It's great to hear about your three properties. Definitely beautiful place to travel 😍

As data engineering can be a complicated job, I am really curious on how are you managing both the worlds of hosting and a full time job. Do you have a co-host? Or do you prefer to manage the listings by yourself?

Regards,
Bhumika

HI! My name is Jackie and I am a superhost from coastal NC!  Last year was my first year hosting and absolutely loved it!  My property is just shy of 5 miles from Surf City Beaches on Topsail Island.  In the future I would like to buy land to build more short term rentals on.

Hi @Jackie1057 😊

Welcome to the Community Center!

That’s marvellous to hear, just one year of hosting and you achieved Superhost status. Congratulations! 😍

How many short-term rentals are you planning to purchase?

Hi I am Sara. I am from Australia. I am going away for a few weeks in April. I thought it would be a good idea to let my place out. My location is ideal for those who love bushwalks, kayaking, picnics. boating etc. My apartment is located very close to several scenic sites.

Hi @Sara10762 😊

It’s wonderful to have you join us!

You had a great idea to rent out your listing here. 😍

Where are you headed in April? Have you already received some reservations?

How are you planning to manage the rental while you’re out of the city?

Warm regards, 🌻
