Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards🌻,
Elisa

Hi,
I'm Carol from the pacific northwest. We travel a lot and host part time, when we are home. We love cycling, traveling, camping, and our family and fur and fin family. Hello all!
Hi @Carol10276 😊,

Which city are you based in?
Are you hosting a room in your home, or do you have a separate place nearby?

Hi @Elisa thanks for your welcome message.
I'm new hosting at Airbnb, but have used the platform for a few years.
I was born in Venezuela 🇻🇪, raised in Venezuela, Spain 🇪🇸 and England 🇬🇧; and living in USA 🇺🇸 for the last +25 years. Happily married to a beautiful and adorable Italian 🇮🇹 girl (for +26 years), and proud father of 2 boys... in other words the whole United Nations. I'll be hosting 2 properties in La Spezia (entrance to Cinque Terre) in Italy, which is the place I would love to retire. Great weather, exquisite food, friendly people, surrounded by beautiful towns, hills, sea, nature; with the charm of a small town and the amenities of a large city.
We (the whole family) love traveling, and we do it on a regular basis (usually to attend Hockey tournaments of our boys, but also for vacation when hockey permits).
Thanks again for allowing us to join your community.
Hi @Jorge3007 😊,
Welcome to the Community Center, and thank you for sharing this here!
I'm from Italy as well, what a beautiful region you chose for your listing. 😍
Are you already living in La Spezia? If not, how are you planning to manage the listings remotely?
Warm regards 🌻,

Hi @Elisa ,
Thanks for your message.
We are not living in La Spezia yet (planning to retire there is a few years), but spend our summers (and sometimes Christmas) there.
We just listed our first apartment in airBnB, and we will soon list a second one. Currently my sister and brother in law (who live in La Spezia) are managing the properties. We will see after this summer if they'll continue doing so or we will look for other alternatives.
Where do you list? in Italy as well?
Cheers
Hi @Jorge3007 😊,
Thank you for letting me know!
What a great approach you have to managing your listings. When are you planning to go there for retirement?
I don’t have any listings myself, I'm one of the Community Managers for this online community.
Warm regards 🌻

Good Afternoon,
My Name is Don. While I have utilized Airbnb for my own trips for over a decade I am new to hosting. I have a few properties in Puerto Vallarta that I am currently trying to get setup. One of the issues I have is that I own them under 2 of Mexican corporations and trying to figure out how to set up the tax information correctly. I see where I can add different tax information for each property, I can't figure out how to add the corporate name affiliated with that tax number(RFC) accordingly. Seeing if anyone has any experience with this. Thank you
Hi @Don6294 😊,
welcome to the community center!
How did you get the idea to start renting these properties? 😍

HI - My name is Michele and we are completing our 10th month as new Airbnbers. I was so excited to receive the Super Host Designation recently! We purchased our condo in Oxford Mississippi because our daughter decided to go to college @ Ole Miss vs our hometown favorite LSU in Baton Rouge LA. The hotel availability in Oxford MS is VERY limited, so we thought this was a great opportunity to have a spot for us when we visit, and to rent out when we are not using the space. So far, it has been great! I look forward to hearing tips and advice on how to increase "rentability" - especially mid week - we currently have about 2 rentals a month, but it is slow in January and also the summer months (from what I have heard).
Hello @Michele2317 👋
Congratulations on becoming a Superhost! That’s an amazing achievement! And a huge welcome to the Community Center.
It sounds like you’ve made a smart move with the condo in Oxford, especially with Ole Miss being such a popular spot. How has the hosting experience been for you so far? Have you found any particular strategies that work well for attracting guests?
I don’t really have a strategy per se .. more of a “throw it out to the universe and see what happens” ! I did use the Airbnb mentor heavily the first couple weeks … those tips were invaluable! The best tip was making my photos brighter. She pointed me to Etsy to get preset filters for adobe Lightroom .. that made a HUGE difference in the quality of the photos. I need to take some new ones as a few things have been updated in the room too.
