Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards🌻,
Elisa

HI - My name is Michele and we are completing our 10th month as new Airbnbers. I was so excited to receive the Super Host Designation recently! We purchased our condo in Oxford Mississippi because our daughter decided to go to college @ Ole Miss vs our hometown favorite LSU in Baton Rouge LA. The hotel availability in Oxford MS is VERY limited, so we thought this was a great opportunity to have a spot for us when we visit, and to rent out when we are not using the space. So far, it has been great! I look forward to hearing tips and advice on how to increase "rentability" - especially mid week - we currently have about 2 rentals a month, but it is slow in January and also the summer months (from what I have heard).
Hello @Michele2317 👋
Congratulations on becoming a Superhost! That’s an amazing achievement! And a huge welcome to the Community Center.
It sounds like you’ve made a smart move with the condo in Oxford, especially with Ole Miss being such a popular spot. How has the hosting experience been for you so far? Have you found any particular strategies that work well for attracting guests?
I don’t really have a strategy per se .. more of a “throw it out to the universe and see what happens” ! I did use the Airbnb mentor heavily the first couple weeks … those tips were invaluable! The best tip was making my photos brighter. She pointed me to Etsy to get preset filters for adobe Lightroom .. that made a HUGE difference in the quality of the photos. I need to take some new ones as a few things have been updated in the room too.
Hi everyone!
Nice to meet you! I am Mauricio from Tulum, Mexico. Love to wonder in nature, diving, eating, bird watching, exercise, and life in general!

All our rooms have a Full Bathroom
We've build a beautiful Treehouse with exotic wood nested in the Mayan Jungle, surrounded by cenotes and it is an ideal place to disconnect from the city life and immerse in Nature. Perfect for birdwatchers, cave divers, or just anyone looking to rest in Nature.
We are powered by the sun and try to have the least impact possible while still being super comfortable and still close to the mayor attractions and the beach 🙂
Looking forward to meet you!
Thanks,
Mauricio
Hi @Julian-Mauricio0 😊,
Welcome to the Community Center!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures here. 😍 You have a stunning property!
Do you host many international guests?
When did you start hosting?
Warm regards 🌻,
-----
Hola @Elisa!
Thank you for the warm welcome and the compliment! 😊
Yeah, I would say we have 80% international guests, mainly Europeans (French, German, Dutch, etc.) then Americans, Mexicans and WW.
We started hosting 2 years ago but Airbnb has just recently picked up, around December 2024. Most of our guests find us through other OTAs.
Best,
Mau 🙏

Hello @Glenn-and-Elizabeth0 👋
My name is Julie and I just joined in December 2024. My Airbnb home is located in a small town in central Ohio. GO BUCKEYES!
Loving it so far!
Hello @Julie6722 👋
A huge welcome to the Community Center! It's great to have you here with us. It's great to hear you're enjoying being a host. Central Ohio must have its own charm! What’s your favourite thing about hosting so far? And are there any local spots you recommend for guests?
@Rebecca Since I am new at this I get very excited when I get a new booking. I really want to get to the Superhost status!
Muskingum University is located in our little town along with the John and Annie Glenn Museum. We also have The Wilds about 30 mins away which is an animal conservation and it is super neat to visit.
My 74 year old parents own the Airbnb property and I run it for them. It has been a fun thing for us to do together.
Thanks for coming back to me @Julie6722 😊
Superhost status is such a great goal and it sounds like you’re well on your way! Have you checked out the Superhost performance dashboard?
It's really lovely that you’re running the Airbnb with your parents. What’s been your favourite part of doing it together so far? 🤗
Hello @Eli2 , My name is Aroldo Carvalho and I am from Jackson, New Jersey, I recently made an investment on a property by the shore in Santos, Brazil and I just joined Airbnb as a host yesterday. I am looking forward to grow with Airbnb and its community.
