Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca and @Elisa and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards,
Bhumika
Goodluck
Hi @Penny480, Have you been hosting since you retired from Sales? How is your hosting journey so far? Do share a photo of Satchmo 🐶
Hi all! We still consider ourselves novice hosts; even after 30+ stays and 5*! We love sharing our home with our guests and even love it more when they fully embrace and appreciate our space. Looking forward to this community!
Hi @Robert7583, you most definitely don't sound like novices! 😂 I love your passion for Hosting! 💕
I’m from the US and have traveled and experienced 5 different continents and lived on 2 different continents: Europe (London) & North America (Atlanta-current). My property is along the Guif Coast in Alabama and sits in the area that four generations of family members grew up. Hoping to introduce the area to other hosts.
Hi @Tami363 wow 😮 that's incredible! How did you find living in the UK compared to North America? Big question I know 😅 I'm from the UK 😎
it was mostly work for me and little social life but for the most part the professional culture is more relaxed than the US.
Hi there, I am from San Marcos, TX and my wife is from Novosibirsk Russia! We met in an airport terminal in Goa, India waiting for the same flight, sat down next to each other and 5 minutes later fell in love! That was Nov 1, 2016 and now we are married with two girls.
We have hosted our master bedroom to get started since March 2023, and are about to juggle that with whole house hosting as we are spending time in our new Tennessee house. We may have a question for the community from time to time but have amassed enough experience I think to perhaps contribute to other members as well.
Hey @Samuel1104, what a sweet love story, love at first sight! 😍
Please do feel free to share your experiences as you venture towards Hosting your whole house, it would be interesting to see the comparisons 🤔
I’m from Morocco 🇲🇦 I have been in business in other industries for quite long but now that I find myself a host for three properties in Morocco, and one in the USA 🇺🇸 I would love to grow in this field by being a host and co-hosts at the same time, am dedicating all my time to this field
Hello @Youssef201 from the UK! 🇬🇧 Sounds like you a lot going on, how do you manage all of this? any tips to share with the community?
I constantly monitor and update my listings on various platforms to ensure they are accurate and visually appealing to potential guests. I also make sure to respond to any inquiries or concerns from guests promptly and professionally, as positive reviews and word-of-mouth recommendations are crucial in this business. Additionally, I have implemented a thorough cleaning checklist for my cleaners to follow. I am always looking for ways to improve and innovate in order to provide the best possible experience for my guests.
Hi! My name is Flavio . I am living in Dublin, Ireland for nearly 20 years now. I came from Philippines. I have a studio condo in Makati which I offer to the guests for a short term lease. I started this in 2021. I love to travel , mountain trekking, walking. I have this problem with the calendar. The calendar in Booking.com shows I have booking from Airbnb for 3 nights when in fact I have none. The calendar in Airbnb also shows I have no booking. Why is this?
Welcome to the Community Center @Flavio339!
Your question about the calendar maybe a good one to ask the experienced Hosts across the CC. I'd recommend posting it in the Support with your bookings board.
Hi! I'm Erik, I'm located in NE Ohio, kind of a recent transplant from Savannah Ga. I fell in love with the area and the people and now call NE Ohio home. The reason I decided to get involved in STR was to introduce more people to our area and highlight all of the great things to do. My area boast some amazing reasons to visit, from the Cuyahoga National Park, to a robust theatre district, world class orchestra, amazing museums and a very busy music scene....and we have one of the GREAT lakes. You will have lots of options and meet some of the nicest people you could ever hope to encounter.
