Is this normal?
I have emailed conversations to back up all claims.
1) Excessive cameras through the property. My family felt violated and harassed daily. There were camera and constants messages about kids being unsupervised, additional family members visiting, etc. this was a direct violation of privacy.
2) Constant messages. There were signs to stay off the grass. We were messaged when folks played outside. There were no smoking signs in the home. When a family member smoked outside, we were messaged. We were constantly warned about everything we did to the point where we felt harassed. We’ve booked Airbnb’s in the past. This was an unbearable experience.
3) Access to the property. At 3:30 am a relative was denied access to the gates community. The basics of hosting wasn’t done, but we were bombarded with messages for everything else. Even little cousins playing together outside. I was sent a message saying they weren’t supervised. It was very creepy.
4) Excessive rules. We were required to tour the property with the host when normally a lockbox would suffice. We were asked to watch a video about the property (again), we constantly contacted throughout the entire stay (I have text messages to prove it), and we were notified of additional fees less than 72 hours before staying in the home.
Summery: This stay was unbearable. Constantly being watches which was an invasion of privacy. My family felt so unsafe that one sibling took a bath in the dark for fear of where the cameras would be. Constant harassment via personal text and on the Airbnb messaging board (both throughout the weekend stay). Miscommunication on fees and what was allowed at the last minute, relatives not being allowed access to the gated community. An absolute horrible experience.
Other topics: I was giving until the day of the event to provide additional birthday and email information by the Airbnb help desk. I had to track down the information from my family. The host constantly blamed Airbnb and me for any issues even though I was given an extension to provide the data.
This lady should not be allowed to host. I have never had an experience like this.

Am I seeing this wrong? Is this normal for a host?
