PUBLIC HEALTH HAZARD. Reposting with photos. Do not stay in ** Florida. It is infested with mold and the host refuses to acknowledge the situation. We got very sick within days of being there and that’s when the mold was discovered. I had to cancel what was supposed to be a 2 month stay less than a week in due to our discovery of mold spots all over the ceiling and throughout the unit. Not to mention, the unit was filthy and it has not been properly cleaned or maintained. It is nothing as advertised. The HVAC system is filthy and has mold spots all over it as well. Roach traps were also hidden throughout the unit. When we approached the host with the issue and asked to vacate the unit she began mocking us for having health issues as a result of the mold exposure and refused to acknowledge that there was a mold problem in the unit. The Host claimed all of her units have this issue and “what you are seeing is called humidity.” My response after confirming it being mold was that humidity creates condensation and turns into mold without proper and quality air flow and maintenance. I also sent photo confirmation through the platform and she refused to acknowledge. She was not willing to accommodate and deal with the issue and was extremely condescending through the entire process. The building is dated and run down with a foul odor throughout. I had to check three different floors to find a working washer and dryer. The building appears to lack proper maintenance compared to other buildings in the area. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this host and unit.
