Pre-approval & Instabook

Ok, brand new to this...  I listed 5 days ago and have bookings back-to-back for 3 months straight starting tomorrow!  My question is:  I pre-approved a stay, but then a few hours later the same dates were booked through the instabook process.  Is that normal?  I'd thought that by holding the dates in pre-approval, that they couldn't be booked...?

@David8720  Your place is gorgeous but your 15 person guest count doesn't jive with the rest of your furnishings. I see no place where 15 people could sit down to eat together, nor living room furnishings for 15.

@Sarah977 Good observation, thanks.  We have two dining tables where a total of  12 people could eat, they are separate tables. There are also tables in the two kitchenette areas, one for four people and another is a bar type table for three.

@David8720  And did you mix up your check-in and check-out times? It shows a check-in time of 10 am and check-out of 4 pm. It's usually the opposite.

Unless you are blocking out a day between bookings, what you have there will never work. And even if you switched them, it seems you would need a day between bookings to clean and reset the place- 6 hours, with 15 guests and so many guest areas doesn't seem like enough time, unless you have a whole team of cleaners.

@Sarah977 Thanks, I've modified the check in/out times a bit, but  I am blocking days between bookings. Its mainly a weekend rental, which is why I had the late checkout, usually sundays.

I have a booking request with 5 good reviews, no photo...thoughts?

@David8720 You won't see the photo until they book. It is an Airbnb way of stopping discrimination.

@Mike-And-Jane0 Got it. Thank you.

@David8720  While there are several booking requirements available to check off for IB, there is only one for Requests- a profile photo. So you should find and check that setting if you haven't already.

While you don't see the actual photo while it is still in the Request stage, you can tell if the guest actually has a profile photo, and if they don't, ask them to please upload one.

If the circle where the profile photo will appear has a letter in it, the guest has a photo. If the circle has a grey sillouette in it, they have not uploaded a profile photo.

@Sarah977 @Got it. Thank you !
