Recent stay in Mesa, AZ

My husband and I recently stayed at an Airbnb in Mesa, AZ, and it was awful. This room should have been listed as a spring break dive. Black mold in the shower, broken floor tiles, coffee maker in the bathroom, the towels were old used beach towels and a wash cloth that looked like a scrubbing rag. However, ear  plugs were provided for any pending noises? I have photos to back my claims. We slept with a 9 mm on the night stand. The pool had not been cleaned since before winter began. The window on the door was taped with duct tape.  The back yard was dug up dirt.  The blinds would not open and there was no AC.

We were so disappointed and disgusted because we have stayed at three other Airbnbs and they were wonderful. We tried calling, texting and emailing the hosts to no avail. I highly do not recommend this location, and would hope that Airbnb would remove these hosts. Buyer BEWARE!

@June279 Some resources for you below. Leave a review for the place and report the listing/host.

@June279  It sounds as though your stay is already complete? In this case, the only thing for you to do is leave an honest review. Photos might have been useful as evidence had you chosen not to stay and requested a refund, but there's nothing left to litigate now.

Hopefully your future Airbnb stays will be more like the other 3, but let's be honest here - Airbnb is like Craiglist; the fact that something is listed there says nothing about its quality. Airbnb doesn't do any vetting or inspections; the only thing resembling quality control is prior reviews. Did you check those before you booked?
