I think Airbnb hosts is KZN need to consider their future position in this market when they refuse to refund visitors who wish to cancel due to the current state of disaster. I for one will never make use of their services again and will discourage anyone else from doing so. To take advantage of customers, your ultimate bread and butter, is riduculous and very short sighted.
@Leslie749 I assume you are a guest booking in KZN. Given the current disaster and state of emergency declaration it is highly likely that you qualify for a cancellation and refund under Airbnb's Extenuating Circumstances policy. Perhaps read this policy in their help pages and, if it applies, contact Airbnb for a refund not the host.

@Leslie749 The following is a link to Airbnb’s Exceptional Circumstances Policy regarding cancellation and I agree with @Mike-And-Jane0 that you are more than likely covered. It is a real shame when some Hosts do not do the ‘right thing’. I hope you get a speedy resolution.
