Super host? Question the cleaning fee

Super host? Question the cleaning fee

We are at at a stay in Barwon Heads and when we arrived we had to clean it. I’m guessing we are the first here in a long time. The floor and rug were filthy and the crockery was in cupboard that had grit and dirt in them. Fan has dust of the blades and there are cobwebs on the beams.
we have never queries the $75 cleaning fee before, but the state that we found the place gave us pause.
In addition the host whose property adjoins ours has had visitors over and an impromptu P!nk concert happened in the driveway.
we are leaving a day early as the bed has no support and we’d rather not sleep on it again.

When a listing is not as expected, the process to follow is to notify the host of the issue via the Air BNB messaging system, allow the host to rectify the problem in a reasonable time frame, and if not solved, then go to Air BNB with a complaint and a request for a cancellation and refund.  If you take care of the problem, such as cleaning, stay in the place and never complain to the host, your only recourse is to give a negative review.  Whether the host has a party nearby is not directly an issue unless you were not able to sleep.  When you selected the listing for your reservation were the reviews positive and the communication with the host inviting?  That is what I look at when I am a guest.

Thank you Linda.
I am still pretty new to Air b&b and I totally agree that noise is not really an issue here. I think I was just bummed with our trip not being as I expected. The mess and lumpy bed certainly did not match the prior comments of the venue. Thanks for your helpful suggestions.
