Super host relief fund?

Early in the pandemic Airbnb asked all hosts to switch our cancellation policy to flexible so that people could cancel their reservations more easily....then came up with what i felt was a good policy to just let anyone cancel due to Covid. Then Airbnb created the Pandemic relief fund for super hosts and I qualified for it and had pages of cancellations, all of them said in their messages it was due to Covid and I let them know I care about their health and I hope they stay safe and may come stay with us in the future. Then I called airbnb about a month ago to see why I did not get any relief (no bookings for 4 months) and most of the cancellations qualified for relief...but the person who answered the phone could not help me or answer my questions as to WHY I didnt qualify, after waiting 40 minutes to talk to him and after getting no where as to my question I had to hang up because i was upset. Can anyone help me? I appreciate that AIRBNB came up with this fund but is it actually real or just a PR stunt?

I rely on Airbnb booking for my sole income and love hosting an meeting new people but after years of paying airbnb fees and being vry loyal I am feeling a bit let down..

@Angielena0

I received compensation for some cancellations due to Covid (the 25% regulation), so that one was not PR stunt.

@Angielena0  There are LOTS of posts on this if you use the search feature......

ONLY hosts with a STRICT cancellation policy got covid cancellation payments: - 25% of cancellation payout = 12.5% of what they would have earned.

SOME hosts did receive  a payout from the Superhost relief fund. some have said it was 2% of hosts..... It was a GIFT to a select few, who had been Superhosts for 5+ years or more, NOT an entitlement for many....

And YES, it was a publicity stunt!

I do/did not have strict cancellation policy, so it seems not to be an obligation tot be entitled for the 25% refund.

@Emiel1 OK, To be exact the covid refund was always 25% of your normal cancellation policy, so if you had a moderate policy, you would also get a 25% payout on cancelations within 5 days of arrival.. - Your payouts must have been short notice cancellations!
