TAX HELP

Hello, I have an Airbnb listing in Arizona, as the state requires us to post our Transaction Privilege Tax License number on the listing I have already done so. My question is, the taxes that Airbnb charges the guest and pay on our behalf already cover that TPT and does airbnb give us something to present to the state or are they only Federal taxes and we have to charge them separetly.

Best Regards

Mario

AZRT- Arizonans for responsible tourism- offers support and information.

the long and short is Airbnb collects and remits on your behalf, but you still have to file TPT (I do it quarterly) and use an exemption code so you don’t have to pay anything/pay again.

Hi Dawn241... what exemption code do you use?  Also, do you have any step by step instructions on how you do this?  I see that for Arizona (the area I am in) requires taxes for Maricopa Transient Lodging (7.27%), Hotel Tax (2.5%), and Hotel additional tax (3.4%).  I need to file and am not sure exactly what I should do.

Any help would be great!
