As I enter my 10th year of hosting and as a Superhost, I still believe that being a Superhost is more than a badge of recognition; it’s a journey that brings personal growth, fulfillment, and meaningful connections. Here’s how hosting has positively impacted my life.
The joy of hosting guests
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Superhost is the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. Hosting has given me the chance to:
The financial benefits
While every host experience is unique and earnings may depend on many factors including availability, price, and demand in a particular area—for me, hosting has had a profound impact on my financial well-being, including:
Personal growth and fulfillment
This journey has also been a catalyst for self-improvement and I’ve developed:
Being a Superhost has been life-changing. It’s about more than just earning money—it’s about connecting with people, learning new skills, and creating a home that leaves a lasting impression. Hosting has made me a better listener, a more thoughtful individual, and a stronger member of my community.
As I await our 37th consecutive Superhost status since 2016, I don’t just look at the number and the nine years we’ve come. For me, hosting on Airbnb has been a family and team effort by getting here where we are at. My main niche in hosting is family. To share our home with our global family. I therefore give credit to my 25 year old Son, who is also my co-host, and our loyal team of helpers. I couldn’t have done it alone, could I? I look at the wonderful forever memories and relationships that we have fostered. I look back at trying times that have left us with a stronger resolve to pursue this passion that is now our way of life. Reading through some heartwarming reviews and notes left by our hundreds of gracious guests reminds us of the magic made. We are totally in gratitude and in awe at this sojourn.
Thank you, Airbnb ❤️

Hello Jue,
This story is truly heartwarming and inspiring. Thank you for sharing it! As someone who’s only been hosting for 9 months, I really appreciate the journey and the joy of being a Superhost too. Congratulations on your 10th anniversary!
Best,
Emir
@Emir190 Delighted to hear from you 😊 Glad that you're encouraged. It's never late to start. And each Host brings in their own uniqueness. You'll make a great host. Can't wait to hear your host stories. Bon Courage 💪 😊
So inspiring! My husband and I have just begun hosting and already we have enjoyed meeting people and connecting. Staying at other Host's listing's teaches us as well. Thank you for your story!
@Jo983 Congratulations! Heartwarming just reading from you and that you're appreciating what one gets back just from the connection and opening your home to the world. Wishing you the very best. Share as you go 🤗 Bravo.
I can share my experience after hosting for 5 odd months and being a SuperHost, I found myself more hostable, a more pleasing person. I care for these daily small earnings more and loving making friends, got more opened from inside.
I feel that being a Host makes you more people's person who learn caring for others.
@ManiKu0 Félicitations on your Superhost just five months into Hosting!
Thank you for sharing. Yes Hosting brings out our best human virtues and values as we relate with our guests from diverse backgrounds. Truly 'Belonging Anywhere'
Keep it Up 👍
Excellent share, blessings 🙏🏾
@Gerald-T0 Thank you
How is Hosting at New Orleans. Would love to hear and learn from your experience. We learn every day in this journey. Never a dull day 🤗
@Jue0 It's been up and down, but there is so much going on with the lottery system. The meetings attended one yesterday that wound up being pushed back or canceled who knows but it's always something. It's been a little slower the last month or so.
@Gerald-T0 We keep pushing and remain optimistic. It will be well. There is ups and downs with the Hosting journey. Yet we pursue our passion. Reward does come eventually. It is finding the balance and taking all opportunities. Remaining dynamic and relevant. Bon Courage. 👏
Lovely Jue!
Anything AirBNB can do to promote personal host experiences like this to the media would be exceedingly helpful right now.
There are a group of misinformed people promoting boycotts of AirBNB because of a former founder's politics ... people need to know that AirBNB is about the PEOPLE WHO HOST and their guests. I am sure like many super hosts, many of you are individuals who take intense pride in what we offer to our guests; many of us own homes in unique locations, with special attributes (mine is a historic artist's casita in Santa Fe). We aren't a group of investors taking housing away for local citizens. We aren't holding noisy parties. We care deeply about our communities.
Kudos to you Jue for telling your story and so glad being a host has brought good things to your life.
Jennifer
@Jennifer62 I appreciate your kind words 🙏
Thank you.
Indeed we do care deeply for our Communities, going above and beyond to ensure our guests get the ultimate experience. This we do as our passion and our love for what we do, opening our world to the world.
Gratifying.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts 👏
