Why is this website SO SLOW?!

Airbnb's website/platform is one of the worst I've experienced.

It feels like every time I click on something I have to walk away for coffee and by the time I come back, I forget what I was doing! It's SO slow. The calendar is a mess. The pricing is a mess. I have to click through a bunch of things to get to something so basic. And sometimes... I'll update prices and availability... and hit save and..... IT WON'T SAVE.

😐 You'd think a billion (??) dollar business would be able to have a website that works. And the burden of the torture is on the hosts which is probably why they don't care to fix it all these years.

I also experience very slow responses to any actions I take on the site. I've never seen a modern website with such a sluggish response. It feels like dial-up days.

I, too, have a very horrible experience using Airbnb. It takes forever to load the inbox and calendar. And this is both on my Mac and iPhone.

Reminds me of using 56K internet all over again, not something you want to be reminded of.

Airbnb - what's up with this? Please address this issue.

@Isabelle-Gerry0       I completely agree with you.    Not only is the entire site slower than molasses, there are also glitches upon glitches.   For the last four days I have had an inquiry sitting on my dashboard that I am simply unable to respond to.  It still just sits there and caused my response rate to drop.  CS has been unable figure it out-the useless conversation has been dragging out for just as long!

I also cannot seem to be able to see a guest's breakdown of their rating anymore; when I click on it, it tells me to turn on instant book to be able to see it. WTH? My instant book is on.   It would be nice, if Airbnb would put some money into fixing their website!

I am running an i9 in Windows 10 w/ a GTX 1080, 64GB RAM,  anda  400mbps internet connection and agree that this is one of the slowest web sites I have ever been on.  Did anyone ever figure it out??

What I'd like to see, if they're not going to do smething about their tortoiselike speeds, is a way for us to access our hosting accounts and pages without having to wait for the main page to load. I don't have any need to see their main page in all its slickness and images to answer guest messages and update my calendar.

I agree! Airbnb is one of the slowest websites I've ever used. I send a message and have to wait 5-10 seconds before it actually sends. If I navigate away, the message doesn't send and I lose what I wrote. It's crazy that such a huge website is operating on such a crappy server.

Even my small company is operating on a better server than this! 😛

could not agree more - totally up to date mac and I could cook dinner in the time it takes to do hosting chores on the site.   Only host so not alot of experience on the other side but it's remarkably slow to be able to complete any actions

Thank you, yes it is the worst website in the internet, everytime i want to work on my listings, finding the right location  is like walking through a corn maze.

Viewing host earnings had completely stopped working on the mobile app a couple of weeks ago. It just spins forever and then complains of a connection error. So, I had been relying on the website to get my earnings information. It was slow but would eventually come up. But in the last two days even the website will not cough up the information. *** Time for a round of IT firings and a restructuring **

As of June 2019, the website is STILL unbelievably slow....I suspect it's only the Hosting side, which matches AirBnB's careless attitude towards it's hosts......aka, it's providers of product for it to sell.

I'm sure the majority of their server power is dedicated to the Guest side, so there's no delay for Guests.....can't have that. Hosts: SOL.

Time is passing by... but Airbnb's website speed is not changing... It was slow few years ago, it's slow righ now, in June 2019. It's just funny to have such an issue with so well-known company.

I agree with all posts here.  I have a fast computer, fast internet, and tech skills.  Worst website I've ever dealt with.

Very slow on all computers for me, and I have 400Mb broadband.  All other sites load quickly.  It's so slow that I dread using the site. I am a host and get lots of enquiries and it is just painful to have to crawl through them all.  Also the calendar function is actually flawed.  I have found 2 very serious errors with it that make it extremely difficult to manage availability.

I get the impression they've victims of their success (poor boys). Constantly moving our listings around from server to server in an unequal struggle to cope with ever increasing traffic and stuff gets mangled in the process. How else to explain them dropping Instant Book from both my listings!

Looks like this problem has not been resolved. I just Googled "Why is airbnb host website so slow", as it takes double-digit seconds to refresh a page or push a new link, and I'm seeing "slow" posts from years ago. Hmm.

Is the same in Rome, Italy. I have a really good connection and the Airbnb website is the only one that looks like coming from prehistory!
