Any thoughts and advice on creating an LLC for my AIrbnb (also primary residence) income?
Hello everyone 👋 I hope you're all having a great week!
Recently, one of our wonderful hosts, @Oksana12, shared an inspiring post about the transformation of her property, titled "From Mess to Cozy Nest: The Transformation of "Mandarin" I was truly impressed by all the hard work she and her team put into creating such a beautiful space 😍🍊
Has anyone else here completed a property transformation, whether it was during the start of your hosting journey or more recently due to personal renovations or guest feedback?
We'd love to see the changes you've made! Feel free to share before and after photos of your listing — your transformation could inspire many other hosts in our community 🌟
Best regards 😎
Thank you so much for sharing your story @Mark5779! 😊 It’s very inspiring to see the dedication and hard work both of you put into making your cabin a cozy retreat.
It must be rewarding to see guests enjoy what you’ve created 😍
love Grächen..
Hello @Lars-Bo0, what a beautiful property! 😍
Thank you so much for sharing these pictures. Are there any ski areas nearby?
Have you made any renovations to your place since you started hosting?

Hello everyone! 👋
I hope you're all doing well. Inspired by @Oksana12's amazing transformation of "Mandarin," I wanted to share a little about the changes I’ve made to my own listing recently. Hosting has been an incredible journey, and I’ve found that even small updates can make a big difference for guest experiences.
One of the key changes I made was enhancing the outdoor area. I added a cozy fire pit setup for chilly nights, which has been a hit with guests. I also refreshed the interiors with softer lighting and updated some decor to give the space a warmer, more inviting feel. These updates were based on guest feedback and have added a touch of magic to their stays.
Here are some before and after photos to show the transformation (see attached). I’d love to hear your thoughts and see what changes you’ve made to your own spaces. Sharing these ideas is such a great way to learn and grow as hosts! 🌟
Best,
Sandip
This looks wonderful, @Sandip11! Thank you so much for sharing this 🌟
What inspired you to do these renovations? Was it based on guest feedback, or have you planned this since the beginning?
Thank you again! 😊
Thank you! 😊 It was a mix of both - While guest reviews did provide some helpful insights, most of the updates were part of my own planning to create a more comfortable and unique experience for my guests.
The chalet build took 3 months to get planning permission, 6 months to get the base done by builders and 6 months during the Winter for my wife and I to put the kit together and finish (a friend helped with the wall tops and the roof). I did the plumbing and the electrics too, but I had an electrician check my progress and make the connection.
The planning permission should have taken 1 month here in France, but after 3 months we found out that the paperwork was lost. I had a receipt from handing the paperwork in and after 3 months they had to give me the permission.
The base took so long because the builders didn't want to work any more, so I had to find another who finished it within a week.
The chalet came as a kit on the back of a large lorry, we had 3 days to put it all in our garage to keep it out of the rain. It was all numbered, but when we came to build the chalet, the bits of wood we needed to start with, were at the bottom 😀.
Even though the chalet is close to our home, the guests love the peace and quiet with a view over a meadow and woodland.
What a beautiful project, @Malcolm238! Big congratulations to you and your wife for this wonderful initiative. When did this project take place? Are you all done with the renovations, or are you still working on some things here and there?
Congratulations again, and thank you so much for sharing this with our community 👏👏
Best regards,
Thank you @Paula , this was back in 2018-19.
The project is finished, but we listen to our guests and if we can improve or change things, we do.
All the best,
Malcolm
Hi @Paula ,
I think all hosts who have undertaken a major renovation or remodeling project love to see the before-and-after photos of their work. And there’s something incredibly satisfying about watching other people’s projects transform as well.
I was also inspired by the examples from @Oksana12 and @Lars-Bo0 , @Sandip11 , @Malcolm238 , @Mark5779 in this thread.
Below are four before-and-after photos, showing the journey from when I bought the house in 2019 to today, where we are almost finished with the renovation.
I’m looking forward to seeing more examples here!
