Hey guys,
I'm freaking out a bit about this upcoming Singapore trip! My mom's from there but she doesn't have any suggestions for places to stay. I really wanted to find an Airbnb so we could feel like locals, but of course those need to be picked carefully right? and we plan on getting a local tour guide.
Any ideas where we could stay that's affordable yet still cool? Or suggestions for finding a reliable guide we could hire for our trip? I feel so overwhelmed trying to sort this all out on my own. Would really appreciate if you guys had some insider recommendations that might make this trip feel less daunting!
Look at travel guides like Lonely Planet and Trip advisor to decide which areas you want to stay in and to find local guides (or just Google them).
Once you have decided where you want to stay then use the search function on Airbnb to find superhosts who have been operating for at least and year or two with great recent reviews. for the sort of accommodation you want within your budget. @David11096

This is really excellent advice @Helen3, I find the Lonely Planet guides are fantastic too!
Hey thanks so much @Helen3 for the recommendation! My friend and I actually already booked a local guide through Go With Guide our trip to Singapore. We found some great options on there after researching guides on TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet like you suggested. We're all set with our accommodation on Airbnb too. Really thankful for the planning tips, it helped put us at ease. Wishing you and yours a lovely holiday season!
