Hello
I made 2 bookings last month and cancelled both within a few minutes
Both hosts had a 48 hour free cancellation policy
I received full refund on one booking. On the other booking I received refund minus service fee which was 170 euro
170 EURO!
Could somebody please let me know how I can appeal this?
I think there is an issue with the fact that I had two confirmed bookings on the system and this explains it but that only became apparent to me afterwards when I read a very complex policy. There were otherwise no pre-booking warnings or information pages letting me know of this
I'm afraid to say, @Sive12, you've fallen foul of the overlapping reservation rule, below, from the Airbnb policy at: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/home/cancellation_policies
Note: Guests won’t get a refund of the Airbnb service fee if they’ve received 3 service fee refunds in the last 12 months or if the cancelled reservation overlaps with an existing reservation.
I'd wager there's no appeal to be had, and the argument will be it's pretty clear.
Good luck all the same.
Did you get refund? I'm on same case
