strange message about accommodation

Hi all! 

For the last month I've received around 6 messages from users from different countries on topic that they are travelling from factory and would like to book an apartment for a period of time for extra money, so that I will give them back their money. I just wonder -- is it a new fraud/cheating or true? 

please, share your experience.
